Kick-off

Hi everyone.

This is a new blog for us all to air any non-course-related thoughts or social events. Feel free to use if you would like.

I will kick things off by saying:

1. I am keen to go to this. Looks very silly but fun. Does anybody fancy joining me? How about doing it on Halloween?

2. This is a great video. Maybe someone can relate it to the course in some way, in which case I apologise for inappropriately putting it on this social blog.

  1. Fantastic idea Barney.

I had already planned to go to Thomas Danes opening (so if any one fancies joining me...), he was the dealer who pushed Steve McQueen into the Biennale spot this year, very smart guy. RE: Brian Eno - I too am a bit of a fan and for more than his iPhone ingenuity. I will call the ICA to buy a ticket tomorrow. Here are some other dates for the diary:

If anyone fancies seeing the Ed Ruscha show at the Hayward - it opens 14th Oct.

Miroslav Balka unveils his installation for the Turbine Hall sometime this week - if it follows on from his past work meditating on the Holocaust this could be topical for us.

Free Art fair at the Barbican 16 - 18 Oct, I've never been - does anyone know if it's worth a look?http://barbican.org.uk/artgallery/event-detail.asp?ID=9734

Colin Arnery, former director of the World Monuments Fund discusses the legacy of architect Nicholas Hawksmoor (1661-1736) whose buildings include six London churches, among them Christchurch Spitalfields and St Mary Woolnoth. The talk is being hosted by The Royal Academy and kicks off at 6:30 pm tomorrow (tickets £12/Cons £6).

    Enjoy!
